A family-oriented church where we seek to fall in love with Jesus

About SUMC

We extend the Christian hand of fellowship in welcoming you to Stevenson United Methodist Church. We are always glad to meet new friends, especially if you have moved to the greater Berlin community. If you are looking for a church we hope the following information will help in your decision. Again, we welcome you in the name of Jesus Christ our Savior and Lord.

Each Sunday we offer 3 different styles of worship. At 8:00 a.m. we have an INFORMAL COFFEE SERVICE that meets in our Chapel, which is set against a backdrop of a beautiful stained-glass window depicting Jesus blessing the little children. At 9:00 a.m. the FAMILY CONTEMPORARY SERVICE begins in the sanctuary. Our Praise Team leads the worship with the keyboard, guitars and drums. The TRADITIONAL SERVICE begins at 11:00 a.m. and our organist, Dick Smith, is featured on the pipe organ. Whichever service you choose, you can be sure that the music, the message of drawing near to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and the fellowship with other believers will be uplifting and draw you closer in your relationship with the Lord.

Sunday School starts in the sanctuary at 9:00 am.

There are also many SMALL GROUP EXPERIENCES at Stevenson in the form of Bible Studies and seminars, such as: Cleansing Streams, Disciple, Alpha, and also short-term studies by Max Lucado, Henry Blackaby, Beth Moore, and other noted authors. Our ladies groups meet on a monthly basis: Methodist Women and Ruth Circle. Each year we have a group who attend the Women of Faith national conference in Philadelphia or Washington. Our men meet the 1st & 3rd Monday night of the month for fellowship, Bible Study, and accountability. Each year we also attend a Promise Keepers Men's Conference.

All in all, Stevenson UMC is an exciting place to be, simply because we are excited about Jesus, what He is doing in our hearts and lives, and our desire to make Him known in our community! Looking forward to seeing you and your family...
