Library Ministry
Library Ministry
Library ministry is about reaching out with the written word. The written word can teach and disciple both young and old alike. Every book shared with someone has the potential for serving as a unique missionary.
Service Area
The service area of a library ministry is the church family. Your church library should respond to the needs of the pastor, church leaders, Bible and Sunday school teachers, and worshipers and inquirers of all age groups.
Mission Field
The mission field of a library ministry is the surrounding community. Through Christian library programming, the church can reach the unchurched, help to heal broken hearts, broken families, broken lives, and meet the spiritually needy. By discussing a book and sharing a cup of coffee in fellowship you can extend the loving hand of hospitality from your church to your community. Children's Christian summer reading programs and story hours can pull young people from the community into a Christian environment and encourage them to develop positive lifelong habits. Christian literacy programs can also be a by-product of a library ministry, as can evangelism.
Let us commit the vision of our library ministry to the Lord in prayer and let Him lead us along the path that He has prepared for His people.
